How to recover missing iCloud photos from November 2015?

Both me and my wife appear to have lost some pictures that would have been stored on icloud. They are the baby pictures of our second child, from November 2015. To be honest I couldn't tell you when we last viewed them but neither of us have pictures from November/December 2015, in fact there aren't many from 2015 at all! Its weird that both of us are missing pictures from this time as we don't share an icloud subscription, is there any way to get these missing pictures back? Many thanks

iPhone 16, iOS 26

There's no one from Apple here. We're just a bunch of users trying to help.

iCloud is a synch service for photos, not a backup service. It synchronizes content across devices. If you delete a photo on any device it is deleted across all devices immediately they synch with iCloud. It goes into the Deleted folder for 30 days and then it's gone completely. If you haven't been backing up your photos then you've lost them.

You need to research backing up your photos. Methods differ depending on what devices you have.

How many backups do you need? One would be good but ideally search for 321 backups: 3 backups, 2 methods, 1 stored outside the home.
