Is the "Show Map" option available in Photos on iPhone?

Iphone 16 promax running IOS26.3 - Photos - there is no "Show Map" option. I'm trying to view photos that were taken from a certain location. On my macbookpro running 26.3, there a map option and it clearly shows where pictures were taken. Is this feature not available on the iphone?

When you get to Utilities, you need to scroll the items under it horizontally to see that there is a Map item. If you were just casually scrolling up and down, you might miss that.

🤦‍♂️ why Apple has such a hard time with menu organization I will never understand. And then they go hide various options somewhere else, also poorly documented, in some future iteration.

If you open any photo you took, on your iPhone in your Library, there should be a circle with an i in it, which when tapped will reveal the details of when the photo was taken and below that is a Map of where the photo was taken.

I'm not sure what you're looking at digging into collections > Utilities > Map, but it doesn't have to be that complex to see where any photo you took was taken.

Thanks Jeff and Rudegar for your responses. This feature worked great in ios 17 on the same iphone but since upgrading to 26.3 I don't see it.

I've swiped up. Individual photos have geolocation but I just can't seem to get to the map where you can zoom in on the clusters based on the area desired. I tried swiping up but don't see the "i".

I've tried under Library as well as Collections. I've left the Library open for an hour but still don't see a "Map/Show Map" option.

95% of my photos that are stored in icloud/local phone were taken with an Iphone. Probably a 1000+ with this specific Iphone 16 with the others coming from Iphones 10, 11 and 12. Location has always been enabled and on the macbookpro, they all show a location and on the macbookpro, they all appear on the map based on where the photo was taken.

Scratching my head wondering what am I missing :(

Thank you for your assistance. Your steps work as presented and I can see nearby photos and from there I can zoom out to find the actual location I was searching for. It was much easier pre 26.3 as "Show Map" would immediately take me to a map of the US where I could zoom in to the desired region.

Thanks again for showing me the new and "improved" way.

I think the point of the original question is not to find out where a particular photo was taken, but being able to show all photos taken in a certain location. For instance, you want to show some friends pictures of your Fiji trip from 7 years ago, you'd bring up the map and find Fiji and all your photos will be piled on that location.

I'd like to create a Shortcut to get there quicker and easier, but cannot figure out how since Apple seems to have removed the "Show Photo Map" action for the Photos app in Shortcuts!

Why Apple, do you take everything useful and either get rid of it or make it painful to get to?

And if you read my subsequent post, I said I then understood what they were trying to do. I'm not sure why you felt you needed to correct me, unless you didn't read further in this one page thread?

And you aren't writing anyone from Apple here. This is a user to user only forum, which Apple doesn't read nor participate. Asking Apple "why" they do anything is pointless here. Feel free to share feedback to Apple here --> Feedback - iPhone - Apple
