My approved app refund is not showing up in my Apple Account

I requested a refund for an app that I didn’t mean to buy, and it’s approved but i still didn’t receive the money back! Why? Does it need time?

The amount of time it takes before you see the refund after approval depends on the source of the payment method. Review the information provided here:

If your refund is approved, the funds are applied to the same payment method that you used to buy the item. Here's how long it takes for a refund to appear on your account or statement:

  • Store credit—It might take up to 48 hours to see the refund in your Apple Account balance.
  • Mobile phone billing—It might take up to 60 days for the statement to show the refund. Processing time might be affected by your carrier. You can contact your carrier for an update.
  • Credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, Apple Cash, and all other payment methods—It might take up to 30 days for the statement to show the refund. If you don't see the refund after 30 days, contact your financial institution.

For me when billed to a credit card, the refund occurred within 3-5 business days, even though the Support Document says it could take up to 30 days. It shows that only because Apple has no control over when the bank of the issued card will post the refund to your account.

Yes, it takes time because it has to run back through various accounting systems. How long might take depends upon the payment method used, as outlined in this support article --> https://support.apple.com/118224

● Mobile phone billing—It might take up to 60 days for the statement to show the refund. Processing time might be affected by your carrier. You can contact your carrier for an update.

Where it refers to seeing your money taking many days, the article specifically says "statements" which to me a statement are things that arrive monthly in my mailbox. I know with my cards I can also check online and charges and refunds usually really appear in a day or so.
