Pages not auto-tracking changes from email

I am using Mac OS 26.3 and Pages 14.5. Each time I open a Pages doc from my email, it doesn't track changes unless I first click Turn Off Tracking and then click Track Changes. Seems like a small thing, but becomes a pain to have to do it each time—if I remember. Thanks!

Does it track changes after you save the Pages attachment from your email to the local drive, and then open it in Pages v14.5 afterward? If it does, then Pages wasn't designed for tracking changes from an email attachment.

Unless Apple changes its mind, it has indicated that Pages v14.5 is end of life, and that future changes will be in v15 releases. I say that because providing Pages feedback from the application menu in v14.5 will unlikely result in any future update.

Thanks for your reply. I tried it with an article I previously saved. I could click "Track changes"and it tracked. The problem with the docs I've been getting recently is that the "Turn off tracking" option is already available, leading me to believe that "Track changes" is on. But it won't track until I do what I described above. Thanks again.
