Getting locked out of website and app sites.

MacBook Air 2022, OS 26.3 and iOS 26.3 on new iPhone Air.

Ever since I transferred my 16pro to the iPhone Air and upgraded it to 26.3 just last week, I cannot access my investment account even with their help, I got on with laptop finally but then got locked out again, I keep getting bumped off other sites where I have dual authentication setup. I won't try my bank yet, for fear I'll get locked out until I figure out what is going on.

I found and turned off the new Limit IP Tracking, but that didn't seem to help. It definitely feels like this has something to do with not recognizing my device and thinking I am spoofing or something. I have reset the network settings, cleared cache and history. of course reboot a few times.

Anyone else having this issue or have a solution for me. I already traded in my old phone. so no going back.

Thanks.

Julie

If you are using a VPN that exits onto the public Internet, you may want to turn it off or get rid of it entirely. I believe that some commercial streaming movie/TV services will block service to people using known VPNs, and some other sites where security is an issue (e.g., financial and government sites) might also block known VPNs.

If that's not it, and you're accessing sites from your computer, you could try downloading another browser, such as Firefox . Normally, having a version of Safari that was "too new" would not be a problem … but seeing whether the problem persists across browsers, or not, might help you to narrow down the possible sources.

Also, when you got your new phone, did you either

  • Have your carrier transfer your old phone number to your new phone, or
  • Update your 2FA settings to reflect your new phone number (if any)

???

I use a VPN only to access my company's server, and it is never on when I am doing personal business on my phone or laptop.

I didn't try Firefox yet, because my authentication is typically to communicate with my phone and that is when I get blocked.

The iPhone Air does have an eSim, (I don't know what that is) When I purchased through Apple directly I told them my carrier was TMobile and when I transferred phone to phone everything worked. I honestly don't know enough about the 2FA settings to know how or where to update.

It is weird, I accessed all these apps and sights right before making the phone transfer and now I'm getting blocked for security protection.

I feel like a dork, 2FA is two factor authentication. I didn't change my phone number, just transferred all the data from 16 Pro to the iPhone air.

I never had an issue moving to a new iPhone and the 2FA....

Are you saying you changed phone numbers? That is the only way I could see a 2FA issue.

Use Quick Start to transfer data to a new iPhone or iPad

I purchased the iPhone air from Apple told them TMobile was carrier so they could communicate the eSIM. I did NOT change phone numbers. All I did upon receipt is let new phone update to iOS 26.3 and I set the new phone next to old phone (with 16.3) and let the data transfer and then used new phone for a couple of days before resetting 16 pro and returning to Apple for trade.

Tried to login into an investment app - locked out, tried on the web, but it said call - I called and no matter what we did, every time it asked me to login to app to authenticate web login, locked out. This happened on two other sites, but was able to get my website to let me reset password on one of them, but it still thinks I am an unknown device.

How do I fix this. I have never had this problem with my other iPhone upgrades.
