What orange battery usage light? iPhone's have no battery usage light. They have a battery indicator on the top right corner.

Are you maybe referring to the Microphone usage icon?

If so, that will appear whenever the microphone is being used.

Orange is the microphone activity indicator, as correctly mentioned.
