Screensaver in Tahoe 26.3 has to be started manually

Mac Mini M1 with Tahoe 26.3, but this has been an ongoing issue since updating to Tahoe. I have used Aerial as a screensaver for years, but since updating to Tahoe it will not start after a predetermined time, but has to be started manually (with a Hot Corner.) It makes no difference which screensaver I use.

I have the exact same screensaver setup on my MacBookPro M5 running Tahoe 26.4 public betas: works perfectly and has since the MacBookPro came with Tahoe preloaded.

Any ideas?

You can try A SafeBoot https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262 to sort anomalies

Does a quick disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches get cleared and rebuilt, third party system modifications and system accelerations are disabled temporarily.

Login and test. Reboot as normal and test. Caches get rebuilt automatically.
