Your wife’s iPhone SE running iOS 26.3 showing P typing as O only in portrait mode is a classic touch‑registration offset issue. On the SE, the P key sits at the extreme top‑right, and when the touch map shifts even slightly, the phone thinks you’re pressing O instead.

This issue may be caused by one of these:

  • A screen protector shifting or lifting on the right edge
  • A case pressing on the frame
  • A keyboard dictionary corruption

1. Open Settings ➡️ Accessibility ➡️ Touch ➡️ Touch Accommodations and turn it off if enabled. This feature can cause missed or shifted key presses.

2. Remove the case and screen protector temporarily. A lifted protector or tight case can shift touch input specifically on the top‑right corner where P lives.

3. Open Settings ➡️ General ➡️ Keyboard ➡️ Keyboards ➡️ English and toggle Smart Punctuation off and on. This forces the keyboard to reload its layout.

4. Open Settings ➡️ General ➡️ Transfer or Reset iPhone ➡️ Reset ➡️ Reset Keyboard Dictionary. A corrupted dictionary can cause incorrect key mapping.

5. Restart the iPhone.

Hi, same issue on my Iphone SE 3rd generation. Today P " and 0 is stopped working... I think issue is on whole line from bottom to top with this size.. Yesterday everything was fine, Today died. Yesterday i did upgrade to version 26.3.1. Maybe this SW is buggy... I did re-add keyboard, cleaning dictionary and many of restarts... I hope this is SW bug otherwise it looks like my phone what have only 4 years died and Apple is doing poor phones... like that ones with android :)
