You’ve got a tire with a 50,000 mile warranty and it’s got a bulge. What are you going to do? Do you want to drive on it and risk your families life and your life? Another option is take your Apple device and request a replacement via your Apple Care warranty. If you don’t have Apple Care, the replacement battery is on you. IF there’s an issue please contact Apple support.

You should stop using the phone and don't charge it. Leave it turned on so it will discharge gently. Put it outside in a waterproof box or bag and away from anything that might burn if the battery should set itself on fire. It sounds alarmist but if it sets on fire in the house it could do some serious damage. In the meantime contact your nearest Apple service centre and see if they will change the battery. Follow their instructions for getting it to them if they are willing to repair it.
