If you have a blocked contact in your contact list and you subsequently delete that contact from your contact list, will it still block that number?

Yes, the number stays blocked even if you delete the contact.
Open Settings ➡️ Apps ➡️ Phone ➡️ Blocked Contacts and you will still see the number listed.
The block remains until you manually remove it from the blocked list.

They will remain blocked. That would only delete the contact card in your list of contacts.
Will blocked contacts remain blocked after deleting them from the contact list?
