How to enable middle click functionality on MacBook M4 trackpad?

I've used Macbook Pros since Jan 2008 when macOS "Leopard" v10.5 was the "new hotness." I have never seen that option offered on Macs.

We may be better to address this if we knew which apps/functions you use have middle-click commands or requirements. I've only encountered it on Windows apps, usually games.

Mac supports triple-clicking, but I think the actions that the feature invokes are would be app specific or defined custom actions.

For example, Pages and Safari both support triple-clicking in text to select a text line or paragraph.

Triple-click functions are otherwise not widespread within the macOS operating environment.

Edit - I don't know anything about "middle click functionality".

Triple-click is supported so perhaps you ought to explain what is not working for you. I am not aware of any macOS apps that do not support it. I have never heard of anything called a "middle click".
