How to restore a deleted song to iTunes library on Mac?

I deleted a song from iTunes but kept the file. I found the file but I do not know how to restore it to the library.

Hi all, Apple Music on PC deleted all of my songs, so I re-authorized the computer and dragged some of my files back in, but there's a heap of songs missing. I can see whole albums that haven't come across, for example. All my songs have disappeared from my itunes music library. How can I recover my songs which have disappeared from my Itunes music library? Most of the music has been downloaded from CDs, but now I click on a song and get the pop-up message, "The song "__" could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?" I click on the 'Locate' box and it takes me to an older itunes folder that is empty. How could the songs disappear if Apple didn't delete them?

itunes always ask me to locate the song which is already in the library The prompt of "The song “xxxx” could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?" sometimes appear when I play a song. I have to locate it again even the file is already in the itunes library. Sometimes this happens even I just finished playing the same song, it will ask me to locate it. The song files are stored inside the itunes library folder, which is located on my computer locally. Would you guys please help me? Thanks!

Double-click it in the Finder, or drag it to the open Music application window.
