How can I recover lost iPhone data from 2020-2024?

Hi. I need to recover the storage from my IPhone 11 which I had until December, 2024 because I have some photos whoch are vital for a Criminal Case. I want to ask you to recover that part from the cloud. Because on that time my phone was hacked and it blocked and I has to install the ioS again and I couldn’t recover only the photos until 2020, but the photos form 2020-2024 somehow I could not recover them. I will pay for the extra cloud space if I need to, but I need to recover those photos for a legal matter. One time I. The last someone who uses to work for Apple told me that it’s possible that Apple to recover even lost data from a phone. Can you please help me? Or should I ask the International authorities if they can emit an order for this to happen? Can you please help me? It’s for a legal matter.

Hi, IrinaIanculescu.

This is a difficult case, as your information is only recoverable if you actually enabled iCloud Photos or iCloud Backup when you had the information and had enough storage to realise that backup and upload it at the time of the backup. Say I have 50GB of iCloud storage, and I have 80GB of photos that I want to back up to iCloud. Even if I have iCloud Photos turned on, once my storage fills up at 50GB, any new photos that I take will not upload to iCloud while I don't have the storage available. That means that the most recent of those extra 30GB will not have been uploaded until I pay for more storage. If I had iCloud Photos turned off, and instead chose to back these up using an iCloud Backup of my whole device, backups would have kept happening every day until they reached that 50GB limit, then no new backups would upload after that if they exceed the 50GB limit. That means that even if you pay today, your data was never uploaded in the first place.

However, this does not necessarily mean that your photos never uploaded! Perhaps you did have enough storage for the backups. In that case, head to iCloud.com/photos, log in with the Apple Account you used on the lost device, and try and see if your photos are still there. If you didn't have iCloud Photos turned off, and instead chose to back these up using an iCloud Backup of your whole device, head to the settings app on an Apple Device that is logged in with the Apple Account you used on the lost device. Click on iCloud, then iCloud Backup, and check if there is an old backup from your lost device. If neither of these methods show any result, it's highly likely that your data is gone for good.
