Gift card to be claimed outside the US
If I buy an Apple gift card online in the USA and want to use it to pay for my nephew’s Apple Music who lives in another country, would it work or would there be any issues?

It will not work. Apple Gift cards can only be redeemed in the country of purchase. Apple will not refund or exchange one gift for another gift card.
Gift cards are easily used for international money laundering if anti laundering procedures are not followed.
