Developer blocked from helping new customer

*** The user of an abandoned app called myWOD posted last month about not being able to access their data due to the last iOS update "breaking" it. I am new owner of the app and I simply stated, "I got you. Please email me at {my email address} and I can send you instructions on how to retrieve the old data.

I am now blocked from the post, how did I do anything wrong here? I am trying to take care of the customer? The app is listed on the App Store.

How could I have done anything different?

No one knows who you are. You might be the dev, or you might be someone trying to take advantage of a vulnerable person. Best to err on the side of caution, don't you think? I suspect that's the way the mods work. In general any personal data is redacted from posts which also seems reasonable to me cos people asking for help are easily taken advantage of.

If the thread is still open then why not suggest that the user contact you via the app's page in the App Store - assuming there's a "contact dev" link. If there isn't a contact dev link then put one in. However, if the thread's closed I don't think there's anything you can do. If there is then one of the more experienced users might be along to let you know.
