White box appears after two-finger click

Whenever I two-finger click (to highlight or open another tab in Chrome), it create a white box that drags alongside my mouse. I have to click again to stop it dragging, but can't get rid of it. It happens in Chrome, Preview, whatever. It's not 100% re-creatable, but happens 40% of the time. Link here to Imgur video.

Unfamiliar with the action... independent of your third party. I would have rather seen the example in Preview.app

For third party consult their support for known issue or resolve.

Is this a external mouse or built in trackpad...?

Try making changes to your Trackpad settings/ mouse settings and compare your results with each changed

To trouble shoot further you can:

—A SafeBoot https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262 will sort many anomalies

Does a quick disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches get cleared and rebuilt, third party system modifications and system accelerations are disabled temporarily.

Login and test. Reboot as normal and test. Caches get rebuilt automatically.

This test will tell you if third party interference; most extensions etc are not loaded in safe boot mode.

—Test issue in another user (or guest user) account https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/set-up-other-users-on-your-mac-mtusr001/mac

This will tell you if it a universal issue or isolated to your user/admin account.

*** (if you are using a wireless keyboard with rechargeable batteries— connect the charging cable, this will make the wired keyboard successful Safe Boot your Mac.)

unplug all non-essential peripherals when testing

Uninstall all third party apps that are Cleaners/Optimizers/VPN/Anti-Virus

all known to cause issues on the macOS
