My phone just downloaded TEMU on its own.

My phone just downloaded TEMu on its own. Has this happened to anyone else? How does this even happen. Also it doesn't show on my App purchase history that I downloaded it.

iPhone 14, iOS 26

If TEMU appeared on your iPhone without you installing it, there are only a few ways this can happen — and none of them involve the phone “installing apps on its own.” iOS does not allow silent app installs.

1) Someone with access to your Apple ID installed it

If another device is signed into your Apple ID, installing an app on that device will auto‑install it on yours.

This also explains why it may not appear in your purchase history on your phone — it shows under the device that triggered the install.

2) App was installed from a Family Sharing member

If you’re in a Family group, a family member can download an app and it may appear on your device depending on your settings.

3) You tapped an ad or pop‑up without realizing it

TEMU ads often redirect to the App Store with a single tap.

If Face ID was already authenticated for App Store purchases, the install can complete instantly.

4) It cannot install from a website, text message, or malware

iOS does not allow sideloading.

TEMU cannot install itself.

No website can install an app on iOS.

5) What to do now

Delete the app normally.

Open Settings ➡️ Apple ID ➡️ Devices and check for any devices you don’t recognize.

Change your Apple ID password if anything looks suspicious.
