When Notes or Voice Memos are deleted from iCloud, they normally remain in the Recently Deleted folder for 30 days. If that folder is empty even though it has not been 30 days, it usually means one of the following happened:
• The items were permanently deleted from iCloud.com
• The device was signed out of iCloud and re‑synced, causing the server to treat the deletion as final
• A second device synced the deletion and cleared the Recently Deleted folder
• Notes or Voice Memos were stored on the device only rather than in iCloud
Once the iCloud Recently Deleted folder is empty, recovery becomes limited, but there are still a few things you can check.
Try the following recovery steps:
• Visit 👉 www.iCloud.com ➡️ Notes ➡️ check the Recently Deleted folder again
• Visit 👉 www.iCloud.com ➡️ Drive ➡️ check if any Notes were stored as files
• Open Settings ➡️ Your Name ➡️ iCloud ➡️ Apps Using iCloud ➡️ Notes ➡️ confirm iCloud syncing is ON
• If you have a computer backup (Finder/iTunes), visit 👉 https://support.apple.com/HT204184 ➡️ restore from that backup
• If you have iCloud Backup enabled, visit 👉 https://support.apple.com/HT204184 ➡️ restore the device from that backup
