I recently bought a new iPhone and noticed that the display looks slightly more yellow compared to my old iPhone. I also compared it with the demo unit at an authorized Apple Store, and my phone still appears a bit warmer.
I’ve already turned off True Tone, Night Shift, and Color Filters, but the screen still looks slightly yellowish when compared side by side.
Is this normal? Has anyone else experienced the same thing?
Displays are manufactured from several sources because of the large number of displays required annually for iPhones. It’s impossible to mass produce millions of devices with multiple suppliers and get identical screen performance. As an example my wife and I now each have iPhone 17 Pro Max models. Our screens don’t match exactly. One is a little warmer toned and the other is slightly cooler (blueish).
Depending on the model iPhone and country it was intended for sale in, Apple is sourcing displays from Samsung, LG and BOE.
Check for display issues as follows:
• Open Settings ➡️ Display & Brightness ➡️ disable True Tone, Night Shift, and Color Filters (you already did this)
• View a pure white background (Notes app or apple.com) ➡️ compare without placing phones extremely close together
• Open Settings ➡️ Accessibility ➡️ Display & Text Size ➡️ reset any modified options
• If the tint looks uneven (patchy or blotchy), visit an Apple Store and request a display evaluation

If it really is new and from Apple you have 14 days to reject it .
