People keep suggesting that turning off Siri fixes the problem but for many people this isn't working. I turned off Siri a month ago and now I have the exact same problem with voice control
Activating randomly... like whenever I move my phone with headphones in. My podcasts also speed up and slow down or stop playing randomly.... this only happens when I listen to podcasts which ***** because I listen to them every day on my walks.... I've tried 3 different pairs of headphones so the only thing I can think of now is maybe the wires are loose in all 3? This is getting ridiculous... i also can't believe that someone from Apple hasn't chimed in yet with a solution as I believe this thread started in 2013.

This thread is full of so much Fail.
Guys, the problem isn't Siri/Voice Control, the settings on your phone, or iTunes. The problem is your earphones and the built-in microphone. Either purchase earbuds without a mic, or ones where you can completely disable it.
I switched Siri and Spotlight off on my iPhone 4S (I know a blast from the past). It's supposed to improve battery life dramatically. I was looking at my phone early this (Sunday) morning and pressed the home button too long. It was totally silent here, but none-the-less, it popped up with voice control and 'Call' one of my main clients names and the options 'work' 'home'. 'Mobile' ! NOOO! I definately don't want to do that, it's 7:30 on a Sunday morning !
Like cutting the wires on an unexplored bomb, I wasn't sure what to do next, I panicked and held down the 'off button' to try to switch it off. WRONG ANSWER ! it then proceeded to say 'calling' and the name of my client😳. I held it down again, longer and managed to shut the phone off before it dialled. Phew !
When I switched it back on, it hadn't dialled, thank goodness and found how to turn off voice dial (it's strangely hidden away in password settings, you have to type your password first). But that resolved the problem.
I think it's a memory issue on my phone, as I also keep getting 'zoom enabled' pop up on the screen at random times. Joys of the iPhone 4S :-)
