Mar 20, 2011 3:03 PM in response to Lance Chongby cbenoist,★HelpfulI experienced this for the first time today, when at the gym. I have had my iPhone 4 for approximately 3 weeks, and it never happened before this latest OS update. So far, it has only happened with headphones that have a mic. -
Apr 26, 2011 8:20 AM in response to Lance Chongby tactrois,This problem is a reoccurring and complete pain in the a -- for me. I use my phone as my work line, and voice control activates seemingly for no reason, cutting my phone connection off. Then the iPod begins to furiously play for no apparent reason. Worse yet it comes and goes. Things calm down and I figure it's been taken care of by powering down or an update, but out of nowhere it activates again. It could be just sitting on a table and there it goes again! I want to just get rid of the feature, I never use it.

Apr 28, 2011 5:59 PM in response to Lance Chongby shirlynne,I am having the same problem. I can be at the gym or running, and the voice control will just pop up. Not only that, it causes my music to speed up or change songs in the middle of one song. I came on the web site hoping to find out how to turn this off.

Apr 28, 2011 6:20 PM in response to shirlynneby Barry Porter1,try going into settings:general:Accessibility:Triple-click Home and be sure it is off,
it will at least eliminate that as a cause.

Sep 28, 2011 3:16 PM in response to shirlynneby ccirie99,Did you ever get an answer? It happened to me while out on a run and it was very frustrating. It never happens with my iPod. Given an option I would rather run with my iPhone.

Nov 2, 2011 5:51 PM in response to Lance Chongby iphoneno0b,Yep. My iphone 3gs , iphone 4 , and of course, now iPhone 4s, Siri pops up every time I workout. This is ridiculous . Apple come on !! I'm my other devices the solution I found was to jailbreak my iphone and thanks to the jailbreak community there was a "tweak" to disable voice control. I wasn't planning to JB my iPhone 4s now I'm going do it if you guys dont find a solution !

Nov 21, 2011 5:45 PM in response to iphoneno0bby Urgamanix,Hi guys,
As a temporary fix, I've found success by buying and using an arm strap to hold my iPhone whilst running. I think the problem is something to do with the quick vibration of the headphone jack - strapping it to my arm reduced the amount of vibration and bounce-impact of the phone. Hope this helps.

Apr 2, 2012 8:13 AM in response to Lance Chongby kjmr,I have similar Issue and it is annoying.I went to apple store and Genius frm genius bar suggests me to replace th ephone by paying 149 dollars.
I think Apple intentinally created these type of bugs and pushing them to th ephone which are not under warranty, SO that People can Buy new i phones and APPLE can increase their revenue.

May 13, 2012 7:10 AM in response to Lance Chongby Lexiepex,You can set voice control for dialling ("voice dial") to off; but you cannot set voice control for music to off.
Settings/General/PasscodeLock/voice dial.

Mar 4, 2013 4:12 AM in response to Lexiepexby dubvibes,My Iphone 4 32GB started having this issue when I downloaded the 2 last 6.1.X... VOICE CONTROL pops-up even when I sleep and calls random people just by the sound of the snoring... in FACETIME even more annoying.
I confirm that it does this day and night and even when it phone is locked..
The guys at ISTUDIO confirmed it was a software problem, they even re-installed the iOS for me...
Is there any department in APPLE that can resolve this really important issue?
Thank you

Mar 9, 2013 5:09 PM in response to dubvibesby Johnrobc,This happens on my 4 and my 5 and is so infuriating. Mostly it's running, but today was just walking with the phone on my pocket and music was unusable. Raise to speak is turned off for Siri and my 4 is obviously just activating the dumb voice control. I've never seen a solution to this, or seen Apple address this in any way. Drives me out of my mind.

Mar 10, 2013 9:31 PM in response to Johnrobcby dubvibes,Thanx, Is your home button still functional? Mine is not working anymore and some guys told me that fixing the home button (hardware) "might" solve the problem... the broken button might be pressing "home" all the time.
I'll fix it next week and see how it works
