I’ve called and reported fraud and they are sending out a new card. Never seen the charge before and I’m retired with no affiliation with a bookstore.

Sounds like a scam. If this was a email or text message stating this as coming from Apple Pay, it's almost certainly a scam, and no actual charge was made unless it actually appears on your visa card's statement.

This is a user to user forum, you are not addressing Apple or Apple support here. There is no way for anyone here to know what the charge is for. Also, what currency is this in? As in US dollars that's quite a hefty amount.

Do you run an education book store?

Are you using Apple School Manager to purchase books and apps in volume for use in educational institutions?

Where are you seeing this charge? Is it just an email? do you see the charge on a payment method's statement?
