Mail: Do Smart Mailboxes override regular mailbox rules?

I have a mailbox that has a rule that "if the recipient contains one of my email accounts it moves it to a corresponding mailbox. I also have a Smart mailbox with the same email address. I have been getting no mail in the regular mailbox, only in the Smart one. So, my question is does the Smart mailbox trump the regular one?

No, you could look at a Smart Mailbox as a sort of filter. A Smart Mailbox doesn't modify the emails or their location.

You may want to double check the Mail rule as it is it that moves emails. Double-check also your setting for the Smart Mailbox as it may not be doing exactly what you intend.
