Assuming this is associated with my Claude AI desktop app install and it's safe to install? seems sketchy but I think it's legit.

xcode-select --install


Will install the Apple Command Line Tool, including git.


That way you know you got git from Apple.

For questions and concerns and prerequisites, contact the app vendor. The vendor seem to not have this information posted overtly, and I'm not inclined to load this package here to review or test it here.


Based on a website with instructions on installing the Claude Code app on macOS, the following are prerequisites include Visual Studio Code and git among other apps, and git is usually loaded on macOS with the Apple command-line tools or with the full Xcode install.
