Export Messages thread from iPhone or iCloud

Is it possible to download a thread of messages from either icloud or my iphone? Is it possible to store them in a file or print them? Also when transferring date to a new phone do all the messages get transferred. I have an old iphone 7 plus and will be transferring to iphone 17e.
