mdm.apple.com/enroll unreachable for Mac device enrollment

Hi, I'm computer technician in one of the biggest french college-university where our Apple devices are managed.


For several days, when a Mac tries to enroll, I get a message about the fact that https://mdm.apple.com/enroll can't be reached. And yes, when I try to join it with a browser, I get a 404 (from our network or via mobile network)

Are you using account driven enrollment, manual enrollment, or automated device enrollment?


I'm not sure because the one who built the thing has left for another college-IT-service and I'm on my own to keep the thing working...

We have two cases : Macs already enrolled by our material-provider, and Macs that we have to add to ASM by ourselves. It's the second case here. So I added it to ASM, with difficulties, put it in the "Jamf managed" group and at start of the MacBook I get the error.

Since the owners of theses Macs need them quickly, I started to cancel the process and setting up everything by hand, as we were doing before...

There are news. I had (it's a regular part of our job) to re-install a MacBook Pro this week, and, whatever the plug(and so, the switch port), I had the message telling that it couldn't join the OS images server. I took the Mac at home, plugged it on my Lan. It lasted something like a full day (let's think and remember that a full-blown Linux distro installs in less than 15 minutes... even the Apple SOS GUI takes longer than that to load from the net... and as a simple example, MacOs didn't even include a mkv-capable player... seriously man...), but worked flawlessly ! The two things are likely to be related. So I will send this to the sysops team...
