[NOT FIXED YET] Performance drop on iPhone 13 iOS 26

Hi, did anyone alse notice a sudden performance drop after upgrading to iOS 26? I'm daily driving an iPhone 13, and after the upgrade i found myself struggling doing basic tasks:

  • Phone overheats
  • Apps take ages to load
  • Sudden crashes
  • Camera app unaccessible for several seconds

After I've closed all open tabs, it returned to a completely normal state, but it sucks to have such ram problems for a faulty upgrade.

And yes, I've upgraded to the last version, I've restarted, I've kept it running for background task etc etc.

Hello~ What’s your current battery health? in Settings > Battery > Battery Health & Charging. If 80% or below …you need a new battery.

It's on 93%

That is amazing. So much so, that I doubt that this reading is correct.

Average battery life for the iPhone 13 was about two to two and a half years. Another way to say the same thing is that the battery normally declines on average at about 1% a month.

The iPhone 13 was introduced in September 2021 and discontinued in September 2024, so the battery is at least 18 months old and as much as three plus years old depending on when you purchased the phone.

Even if you got one of the last iPhone 13's off the line, I would expect the Battery Health to be in the 85% range at this time, likely lower.

Even then, the iPhone should not be crashing or overheating. No "do-it-yourself" fixes here.Make an appointment at the Apple Store / Genius Bar or take the phone to an authorized Apple service shop to get the iPhone checked and tested.

You can find a list of authorized shops in your area using this link: https://locate.apple.com/
