AirDrop fails iPhone 13 to MacBook Air for photos

I can no longer use Airdrop to send photos from my iPhone 13 (iOS 26.2.1) to my MacBook Air (Tahoe 26.3.1, 13-in M3 2024). I've tried the suggested fixes such as turning on and off location services, bluetooth, etc. and restarting devices but still will not work. I noticed this issue has recurred several times over the past year and all those threads get closed, some when there does not seem to be a solution. Is this a bug??
