If you are in S. Korea, read this support article —> https://support.apple.com/HT209533 = Verify your age when you download or stream mature content in South Korea

If you are seeing this and you are running the 26.4 beta version of iOS/iPadOS then you should downgrade back to the regular version. You are running a test version of software which may result in unanticipated issues (fully review the terms for the beta program here —> https://beta.apple.com/sp/betaprogram/faq ). We are not allowed to discuss issues arising from using beta software. To learn how to uninstall iOS/iiPad beta software, read this support article —> https://support.apple.com/HT203282

If you are running the regular release of iOS software and are in the UK, Australia or another country with new laws requiring Internet age verification, ask Apple what to do. They have not provided us (regular users like you) with any guidance about age verification. This support article has various country telephone numbers for contacting Apple for support and service ➔ https://support.apple.com/106932 Scroll down to “Connect with live support”. If your country is not in the list, go to the “Other countries” entry at the end of the list and click on the “options” link. Not every country has telephone support, and phone numbers may only work when calling from the same country.

No, it hasn't. There is no indication currently that any data is sent to the UK government at all during the verification process. Just that age verification needs to take place with one of the available options. This is probably all done locally by Apple.

Any other phone out there will need to have the same age verification process, so basically will be doing generally the same thing.

Also, threats don't work here, use or purchase whatever device suits your needs. no one here has any vested interest in your choice of device. But a government mandate is generally required of all manufacturers doing business in the country.

Is it bad, probably yes, no reason for the government to get this intrusive, but does it mean your privacy is at stake, likely not. Apple is very conscious about personal privacy and does not just expose personal details like that. Not something that can be said about other manufacturers though.
