Connecting headphones through the USB-C ports

Can the Neo's ports be used for headphones?

Yes. I know there's the 3.5mm headphone jack on the right.

Just for sake of wondering. On the surface, both the iPad Air M2 and iPhone 17 have that functionality. Since the Neo also has USB-C ports, can a pair of headphones connected with the 3.5mm to USB-C adapter be used in eitther port?

So, before I accidentally fry the cord, adapter, or the Mac, can that be done?

Kavan, yes, I could use the 3.5mm jack.

Having an iPhone 17 currently, previously the 10 and 13 as well as an iPad Air M2, which lacked the 3.5mm jack, for tech curiosity and to avoid damaging my headphones, Neo, or both, I want to make sure. Besides, the Neo isn't an iPad. So, I'm thinking since the Neo has a 3.5 mm port, both USB-C might be designed differently without the ability for sound output.
