Continuity Camera unstable on Mac Studio M3 Ultra — persists after full reinstall (Sonoma and Tahoe)

Mac Studio M3 Ultra, 96GB/1TB, S/N **********.

Continuity Camera does not work reliably. Bluetooth does not pair with any iPhone even though AirDrop works fine. Tested with multiple iPhones, same Apple ID, same local network.

An Apple Authorized Service Provider ran full hardware diagnostics — all tests passed. Hardware and firmware ruled out. They observed that physically unplugging and replugging a cable causes the system to briefly detect Continuity Camera, then lose it again.

The issue persists on both macOS Tahoe 26.3.1 and macOS Sonoma (the AASP did a full reinstall to Sonoma to rule out Tahoe-specific causes).

All prerequisites verified: same Apple ID, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth active on both devices, Handoff enabled, Bluetooth module reset, devices removed and re-paired.

The AASP suspects a macOS bug specific to M3 Ultra on Mac Studio. Is anyone else experiencing this?

iPhones do not and have never ‘paired’ with Macs via Bluetooth. AirDrop, Handoff, etc., do use Bluetooth to transfer data but there is no pairing in the sense you mean, where the iPhone shows up under Bluetooth devices like a mouse or AirPods.

Continuity Camera works fine on my two Macs, but they are both MacBook Pros so that doesn’t address a possible model-specific issue.
