QuickTime: iPhone audio input missing for video recording

I am using an iPhone 14 with iOS 26.3.1 with a Mac Mini M4, Tahoe 26.3

I am trying to record a video via the iPhone camera/video direct to QuickTime. I cannot access the audio recording as the input does not show in the Quick Time "record" drop down menu. I have tried everything advised; reboot, both devices etc etc...

My question: is this possible ?
