Top right macOS menu bar icons (Wi-Fi, etc.) missing

macOS 26.3 removed my ability to see the top right corner of the menu bar where Wi-Fi and other icons are located. As far as I know, there is no option to remove just that specific part of the screen, and I haven’t been able to find any other posts about this issue. My guess is that there might be an app or process affecting it that I can’t close.

I’ve already done several hard reboots, but the usual restart fixes don’t help. Everything to the right of the notch, which isn’t visible in the screenshot, is completely gone. This makes basic actions like changing network settings or using Bluetooth unnecessarily difficult.

Some apps can hide, rearrange, or overflow menu bar items, especially on notch MacBooks.

Common culprits are Bartender, Dozer, Hidden Bar and Ice

Quit or uninstall any of these (or similar apps)

Check System Settings → General → Login Items and disable suspicious background apps

After quitting, log out and back in (not just restart)

I’ve already ruled that out. All login items are disabled and I’ve removed anything that could even potentially affect the menu bar. I’ve also never used apps like Bartender, Dozer, Hidden Bar, Ice, or anything similar that manages or hides menu bar items.

All background apps are turned off as well, so there’s nothing running that should interfere with it.

I also followed the other advice in this thread, including booting into Safe Mode and then restarting normally, and that didn’t fix anything either.

Given that this issue appeared immediately after the update and nothing on my system is controlling the menu bar, it really seems like this is an Apple-side bug rather than something caused by my apps.

Download the Application Etrecheck  ( External Link ) directly from the Developer.

Does this mean that this is a Apple sided bug?

That could very will be the issue.

From this point I would:

1) Make sure that I had a good backup.

Back up your Mac with Time Machine - Apple Support

https://bombich.com/ https://www.shirt-pocket.com/

2) Run Disk Utility Repair on the Storage Drive and APFS volumes.

How to repair a Mac storage device with Disk Utility - Apple Support

3) Reinstall macOS over the top.

How to reinstall macOS - Apple Support

Then if that doesn't fix, I would Call and/or Contact Apple Support.

It could be an Apple MacOS bug ... but your post is the first I have seen of this. That doesn't mean scores of others won't be reporting it shortly, though.

Meanwhile, it seems almost too obvious, but did you re-check that the System Settings => Menu Bar is set up as you want. You can uncheck and re-check all those Menu Bar items, it might be worth a try.

I also second Owl-53's suggestion of an Etrecheck report.

Though, " In light of certain developments " is a bit of a tip off they may have moved on

No further assistance can be provided from this quarter

I will say, using the M4 MBA ( Notch ) with Tahoe 26.3.1 (a)

Can not replicate this issue
