Can you connect two monitors to mac mini m2?

I have just bought a new monitor to connect, so I have duals. And I see in the settings of Display you can do Extended. I Assumed it would mean the Extended was a screen that I can drag things over there. But when I try, it's like it's locked to the one screen.

There is no "arrange" option either.

Can someone please help?

Both are connected via HDMI - one direct in the Mac, one in the adapter.

Thanks.

Mac mini, macOS 26.2

Your Mac mini M2 support two displays: one via HDMI and another via Thunderbolt -OR- two via Thunderbolt.

The HDMI port supports only a single display.

Which is to say, if you want to use two displays, one of them must be driven by the Thunderbolt port which also support DisplayPort via USB-C.

I am using an Adapater that connects to Thunderbolt and has multiple sockets, for SD Card etc, and a HDMI on the end of it. I can make it work, but it's the means of mouse or windows being dragged across that won't work.

Can you now connect the other monitor to a HDMI that goes through the Thunderbolt?

The adapter is no longer on Amazon, but this is the full Desc:

"LETSCOM USB C Hub, 6 in 1 USB C Adapter with 4K HDMI, 3 USB 3.0 Ports, SD/TF Card Reader Compatible for USB C Devices"
