Apple Pencil 1st Gen draws before touching iPad 11

Hello everyone,

I am having a frustrating issue with my Apple Pencil (1st generation) and my iPad (11th generation).

Every time I try to write or draw, the Apple Pencil registers a stroke before the tip actually makes physical contact with the glass. Because of this, every single line or word I write starts with a weird dot or a premature mark. It basically acts like it's sensing pressure while it's still hovering slightly above the screen.

I have attached a video so you can see exactly how the dot appears before the pen touches the glass.

I've already tried unpairing and pairing it again, as well as restarting my iPad, but the issue persists. Has anyone experienced this specific "hover drawing" problem? Is this a hardware defect with the pressure sensor inside the pencil, or is there a fix for this?

Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
