• Hello,
I have an iPhone 13. Recently, I upgraded it to the latest iOS version. The next day, I noticed that my iPhone’s battery started swelling. I am very concerned about this issue.
Can anyone guide me on:
What steps I should take immediately?
• Where and how I can file a complaint or request service from Apple?
Thank you in advance for your help.
Your battery was surely failing before the update, but the intensity of the update surely pushed the battery further than it was capable of being pushed. When batteries fail, they often swell.
Were you paying attention to the health of your battery at all? You should have been checking at: Settings > Battery > Battery Health and when the battery dipped to 80% or less, you should have scheduled an appointment at your Apple Store Genius Bar.
Since your phone is likely far past the original manufacturers warranty, you don't have a valid complaint. You need to schedule an appointment at your Apple Store Genius Bar and show the phone to Apple to see IF it can be repaired or whether you'll need to buy a new iPhone. Appointments can be made here --> Apple Service and Repair for iPhone Battery - Apple Support
And of course, power the phone off and don't use it until it's been seen at your Apple Store.
