How can I record system audio on a Mac Studio? Unfortunately, the built-in screen recorder doesn't capture sound (which is really strange, btw please fix this!).
In the meantime, I need a way to record both video and audio. Can anyone recommend a good app for easy screen and sound recording? Something similar to Action! on Windows.
BlackHole works average, so that's out.

My go-to app for screen recording with audio is Telestream Screenflow. It has many features including the ability to record video & audio from multiple sources simultaneously and includes a full-featured editor. (See the product sheet for more info.) I have always gotten very high quality results with Screenflow.
That said, BlackHole audio works perfectly fine with QuickTime to capture screen video with system audio. What difficulty did you seem to have with it?

First, the built-in screen recorder DOES capture sound, as Ian noted.
That is not the same as recording "system audio", which if I understand correctly.
Quicktime Player (which uses the same underlying framework as the Screenshot app), together with BlackHole is the tool that I use, and it does a perfect job, IMO.
What do you mean by "BlackHole works average"???? Can you elaborate on that? What is the problem?
Maybe you want to record BOTH system audio and a microphone. You can do that too. You need to create an Aggregate Device for it, in Audio MIDI Setup.
The built in screen recorder does record both video and audio.
