MacBook Air: Can't reinstall macOS Sequoia, no disk shown

My MacBook Air had mysteriously logged me out of my user info when I decided to restart it randomly one day. Meaning on the lock screen my credentials weren’t there and the image of the lock screen was different. I tried logging in with my info but nothing seemed to work. I decided to factory reset.

Now in recovery mode it is giving me the option to “Reinstall macOS Sequoia” but when in the process of download it is either stuck at a random time estimate or stops and an error message pops up, or refuses to let me download it at all.

I have checked the disk utility a million times, repair, such as erasing, etc.

Now that I have tried reinstalling macOS Sequoia, it takes me so far and asks which disk I would like to download it on; only issue is that the disk options don’t show up.

Any last resort before I take it to the Apple Store?

What year MacBook Air is this?

This sounds suspiciously like a drive failure.

But there is something you can do to confirm that your process is correct.

It may be that you have not reformatted the drive device properly.

It's possible you erased a volume but not the media.

Startup in recovery again and launch Disk Utility.

• In DU click View > Show All Devices.

• Select the drive device, the topmost item in the side bar usually named Apple SSD...Media.

• Click Erase and then use GUID partition scheme and APFS format. Name the drive Macintosh HD.

Quit Disk Utility and then try again to reinstall macOS.

MacBook Air Computers that have a 15" Screen and qualify to run macOS 15 Sequoia are all Apple Silicon computers

If you had used this method >>> For Apple Silicon computer >> Use Disk Utility to erase a Mac with Apple silicon.

Once that process has been completed successfully

The Drive, as you have mentioned, would still be there

Actually, when using the above method, the Operating System Itself in Not Touched

The only aspect that was Removed would have been your User Account ( Home folder ) and all that it contained
