iOS Mail search incomplete for recent Exchange emails

Adjust Sync Settings:•  Change "Mail Days to Sync" to "No Limit" or a longer duration (e.g., 1 Month to No Limit) to ensure older or less recent emails are downloaded and searchable, as search typically only queries locally downloaded content.

Toggle Mail in Spotlight Search:•  Go to Settings > Siri & Spotlight > Mail and toggle "Show App in Search" and "Show Content in Search" off and back on to force a re-indexing of locally stored emails.

Toggle Mail Privacy Protection:•  Go to Settings > Apps > Mail > Privacy Protection and try turning off "Block All Remote Content," as this can sometimes prevent older messages from appearing correctly, 

None have worked....network on wifi / cellular / both makes no difference

Download the Outlook app, assuming that is the Exchange account he is using and do a search from there and see if you get the same results or not.

The only other alternative I can think of is to delete and re-add the exchange account, so everything syncs back up again.

I just did a search for a specific email address using Outlook app, and was able to scroll up to 2024, I'm sure it can go further.
