Unreliable Battery Problems in my 2022 MacBook Air

My 2022 MacBook Air, has the Tahoe 26.3 update, was given to me, and within its first week of true usage, it stopped charging with any apple charger- even the one it came with. So I left it alone for a few months and took it to get examined; for them to find no problems with it.. well, just two days ago it crashed again once I plugged it in to do homework (it was at 75 percent and I didn't want it to die while I worked) and upon a second inspection- they told me something was wrong with the computer, and that my limited warranty might not cover any repairs. But my MacBook still shows normal battery health. What should I do?

(Note: it didn't show anything about the 26.4 update until today)

MacBook Air, macOS 26.3

It's true that while the battery health may be normal, something else may be wrong with the computer, e.g. charging port or logic board or even software conflict. Ultimately, it may be that the only way to know will be to drop off the laptop for proper diagnostic and repair.

However, before you do that, you might simply erase and reset the computer to factory specs. This will wipe all third-party software - and your own user data - and present the computer as fresh out of the box. This would be one way to eliminate any added software as suspect in the computer's misbehavior.

As for the 26.4 update or any update really, they will appear when they appear and you can apply them as they do. Or not. This particular update was only released a few days ago.

FYI, Battery Health reported by macOS does not indicate the battery is completely healthy. Just like when the Apple Diagnostics run it may not report hardware issues even when a hardware issue is confirmed through other means.

For the past two years or so I have noticed the Battery Health and Apple Diagnostics no longer notify of a battery issue like they did in prior years. Plus even in those prior years some battery issues would never be caught by macOS or the Apple Diagnostics.

Without actually seeing the laptop, the problem could be due to the battery, but since it is not charging.....I would suspect an issue with the USB-C ports or even the Logic Board.

I find most people do not get rid of working devices without a reason....usually they hand their problems off to someone else. Could be coincidental, but if you noticed a problem that quickly, then it is likely the previous owner knew about the issue.
