Hello, I wanted to let you know that after yesterday's update to macOS Tahoe 26.4 (from 26.3) the Custom Folders stop working if in the folder name there is a dot (.) such as "macOS 26.4".
The customization of the Folder as an icon or emoji disappears and the effects of opening, closing and containing files disappear. I tried on 3 different Macs and it does it on all of them.

Same problem on an iMac Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2020.
What was absolutely unacceptable was overwriting custom folder art. The default blue creates a featureless field, and the individual/custom art becomes a visual assistance for rapid identification and navigation. Now my documents folder looks like the windows machine I have to work on, and forces me (and every other user) to read, re-learn positions, and likely re-apply custom artwork, thus turning a simple update into a major time-sink. Folders are folders, but forcing users to burn time to re-optimize a system is absolutely not acceptable.
Ok, let's go back to the 90s with file names of a maximum of 8 characters. OK.
And anyway until 26.3 it worked, now it doesn't.
I've already reported it three times before informing other users as "me" here in the community.
While that result shouldn’t be expected, you should not use a . in a folder name.
