Apple asking for age verification for an old iPhone 3G purchase

Why when my apple device history goes back to a new iPhone 3G am I being asked to verify that I am over 18? Surely Apple has a record of such things.

The age verification by account age is if you have had the same Apple account for 18+ years. iPhone 3g was about 15 years ago.

This is the UK or Australia governments and some US states making law changes to protect children from adult sites and we should all support it.

Add your credit card to your apple Payments and Shipping settings. Credit cards are far safer than debit cards, and if in UK you have Section 75 protection for purchases.
