I just bought the new iPad Air 13” and apple pro pencil 2026. Everything new. I’ve just tried to connect the Apple Pencil with the iPad but after failing to connect several times, restarting the iPad, reconnecting the tip, restarting the Bluetooth and all that jazz, it still doesn’t want to connect. Don’t know what I am doing wrong here. Have no case on the iPad either… please! I need some help!

How exactly are you trying to connect it?
What steps are you following?
Are you placing the pencil on the edge of the iPad on the magnetic strip there?

When placed in the correct position, a graphic of the pencil should appear on the iPad's screen. If it's not appearing, you may need to wait a bit for the pencil to charge enough to be able to pair.

If it still won't connect, then take it back to where you bought it and ask for a warranty replacement.

I am going to have to take it back tomorrow. I connect it via the flat strips together magnetically on iPad and pencil. It appears with the charging notification and then nothing more. So it’s fully charged now without even being connected.
