MacBook ineligible for AppleCare purchase

i bought my macbook m5 on the 12th of march and set it up on the 17th or 18th of march. it says that my complimentary apple care expires on the 27th of march, and i want to purchase 3 year coverage myself however it says my device is still not eligible for apple care? im confused
