Extend Apple iPad 7th generation charging cord?

I guess I wouldn't add an extension to the existing cable but rather get a long enough cable, this to avoid any potential issues.

Apple has those 2 long cables:

• mophie USB-A to Lightning Charge Cable (2M) - which is 6 ft and 1/2 long.
• mophie USB-A to Lightning Charge Cable (3M) - which is almost 10 ft long.

You can find long cables like these elsewhere. Just make sure they are MFi-certified (Made for iPhone/iPad.)

I would say yes, the org usb2 std. had a 5meter limit in terms of valid range before an usb powered hub had to be applied but usb extention cords are pretty cheap and common around the place
