I’ve been experiencing the exact same issues since updating my Apple Watch Series 3 to the recently released watchOS 8.8.2, paired with an iPhone 16e running the latest iOS.
I managed to stop the sudden restarts by unpairing the watch and setting it up again as a new device. However, like you, I’m still stuck with several native Apple apps failing to install.
Since so many of us are facing this, I’m convinced it’s a bug in watchOS 8.8.2. I’ve already reported this via Apple’s Product Feedback, but I haven't heard back yet.
Let’s hope Apple releases a fix or an update soon!

To let Apple's development team know that the same problem is occurring, why not submit product feedback so they notice this issue and fix it quickly?

I think Apple will fix this with the next watchOS update.

Me too! I have this on my series 3, did this happen after swapping your phone or resetting it?
I’ve had this exact same situation occur with my Series 3. I had updated my watch to the latest watchOS version before I factory reset my watch, but it did not download most system apps.
Maybe downgrading to WatchOS 8.8.1 will help? It seems impossible to do this on your own.
