Since the last update my Mail App on both iPad and iPhone does not deliver any search results anymore. I can even see the titel of a mail, but when I search for any word in that title it does not give any results 😡.
iPhone 16 Pro, iOS 26
On either device, go to Settings > Apps > Mail > Search, turn off the 2 settings there, restart the device and turn those 2 settings back on. Wait a few minutes for the search index to rebuild.
If this doesn't fix the issue, go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud, turn off Mail, restart your device and turn Mail back on. Again wait a few minutes to test.

This worked for me so I’m extremely grateful for the tip. I left my iPad plugged in overnight for the index to rebuild.
This worked for me. I turned off all options in search, restarted device, turned all options back on. Now mail found some emails it couldnt 10 minutes ago
Another potential fix would be to turn off Mail for each email account in Settings > Apps > Mail > Mail Accounts, to restart your device and to turn back on those accounts.
You could also try to force restart your iPhone.
Thanks for trying, however Step 1 did not work and step 2 (iCoud) cannot work, since I don't have an iCloud Mail Account (only 3 IMAP and one Exchange).
Each of my accounts contains like 2-4 GB of data. Syncing would take AGES 😣
