iPhone 13 mini SIM count

I have 13 Mini for China (MLDE3CH/A). It has only 1 SIM slot in SIM tray and no option for eSIM setup. Is that software bug that there is no eSIM installation option or China version really has only just one SIM slot and no eSIM at all?

It's not a bug. Devices sold in China do not support the eSIM at all.

Look closely at the SIM tray. It can hold 2 nano-SIM cards. One on each side.

You would be right if it was iPhone 13, not “mini”. My mini version (A2629) really has only 1 SIM slot. I checked SIM tray and it can’t handle SIM card on other side.

I found on apple website that there is no Dual nano-SIM version for mini:

Apple just disables eSIM for China without providing ability to use second nano-SIM. Also found approve of this on non-offical websites like everymac

Apple just disables eSIM without providing second nano-SIM slot probably cause of small size of mini models. Any other 13 iPhones starting with regular one have second nano-SIM in China, but mini not
