Is there a separate remote control to operate QuickTime with my MacBook? I want to be able to stop and start the Quick Time app without having to reach over for the Mac keys.

There's quite a few remote control apps in the App Store if you have an iPhone.
If you are looking for a physical remote there are some options on places like Amazon for example.

Or just use a wireless mouse to control the pointer and click where you need to.
I use an app called Rowmote Pro that's in the App Store.

AHHHHHH! The wireless remote!! So far there was no remote device that controlled Quick Time. The iPhone apps do not work with my Mac due to something called a double router and following that through they basically want me to be a Mac guru and I'm a techno-impaired senior. Thank you and will report back. Should have seen that at the bottom!
