Zoom app launching with giant face on Mac

I just purchased a Mac Neo (macOS Tahoe). Every time I launch the Zoom app my face is HUGE. The help information I've found says that this is likely because of Center Stage, but I can't find that setting anywhere in the settings or in the Video menu that appears during the call. The only way I have found to turn it off and get to a regular framing is to open the accessibility > camera options. Opening the menu fixes it, but the fix doesn't stick.

See if this works with Zoom:

Use Center Stage to keep you centered in the camera frame - Apple Support

The article suggests this works with other video apps, not just FaceTime. Look for the FaceTime icon in the menubar when Zoom opens.

The problem is because the camera is automatically opening in portrait and not landscape mode, and then it's cropping so you don't have the black bars on either side. The only way I have found to change the camera to landscape is to open zoom, then also open facetime which detects that you are on a computer and automatically changes the camera to landscape for both apps. I have not found any way to change the camera settings to default to landscape, and so far I have had to do this every time I use zoom.

In zoom you can also open video settings and check "original ratio" so at least when you open zoom it looks like you're using a phone and not just weirdly zooming in on your face.
